Kenyan incubator Nailab has launched the “Next Economy Programme” aimed at boosting job creation and entrepreneurship in the country, by equipping young people with new skills and supporting entrepreneurs.
Launched in partnership with SOS Kenya, 1%Club Netherlands and SOS Netherlands, the Next Economy Programme has two pillars. The “make it work and get started” pillar focuses on basic life skills training and the transfer of useful employability skills. The “grow your business” pillar supports early stage startups and entrepreneurs through one-on-one support, coaching and crowdfunding for their businesses.
Selected participants will take part in the first pillar training between July and September; and progress to entrepreneurship and employability training between October and December. Throughout December, the programme will assist in crowdfunding campaigns to support the businesses of those participants in the entrepreneurship track.
