RVI, which measures the implied volatility of MOEX Russia Index options, was up 4.37% to 25.57
Russia equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the MOEX Metals and Mining, MOEX Oil and Gas and MOEX Electric Utilities sectors led shares lower.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.79% or 35.35 to $4,502.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July dropped 3.24% or 3.11 to hit $92.91 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract gained 0.08% or 0.08 to trade at $95.22 a barrel.
At the close in Moscow, the MOEX Russia Index declined 0.86%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the MOEX Russia Index were GMK Noril’skiy Nikel’ PAO, which advanced 1.83% or 2.40 points to trade at 133.40 at the close. AK ALROSA PJSC gained 1.68% or 0.42 points to end at 25.38 and Unipro PJSC was up 1.40% or 0.02 points to 1.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included OZON, which dropped 2.90% or 116.00 points to trade at 3,888.00 in late trade. AFK Sistema PJSC slipped 2.80% or 0.35 points to end at 12.20 and VK Company Ltd down 2.54% or 6.10 points to 234.00.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones by 167 to 72 and 12 ended unchanged on the Moscow Stock Exchange.

On Wednesday, Gold Futures for August delivery was down 1.27% or 57.20 to $4,462.70 a troy ounce. Crude oil for delivery in July gained 2.60% or 2.44 to hit $96.20 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract slid 0.80% or 0.78 to trade at $97.12 a barrel.
