Nebraska trade mission will visit Canada amid NAFTA uncertainty

Amid talk of ripping up the North American Free Trade Agreement, a delegation from Nebraska will visit Canada in August.

The August trade mission to the No. 1 destination for Nebraska exports aims to gauge the sentiment of Canadian leaders about potential changes to NAFTA, Gov. Pete Ricketts said Tuesday.

The visit to the state’s top trading partner will make its first stop in Toronto before moving northeast to the capital city of Ottawa, where the governor and other officials from state agencies like the Department of Agriculture and the Department of Economic Development will meet with Canadian legislative counterparts.
