Nutrifix app to make nutritious eating easy

A new app from Nutrifix aims to provide information on nearby nutritious items to users

As healthy and nutritious eating seems somewhat difficult to many because of a lack of knowledge regarding the places where one can find nutritious food items, a new app in the UK may make it easier for health-conscious individuals to locate places where they can find healthy and nutritious food items without any difficulties. The app from Nutrifix makes the search for those looking for healthy food items nearby easy by offering easy options. It enables such people to not only locate stores offering nutritious items but have items of their choice delivered at their doorstep.

The new app which is about to launch, aims to cut the fuss around eating healthy by providing detailed nutritional information on thousands of meals from both high street chains and independents. The app works by taking a user’s stats and health goals to locate healthy meals nearby. Users can either follow a map to visit the required places nearby or have their food delivered by Deliveroo. Nutrifix will officially launch on March 7.

Founded by CEO Joel Burgess, the company follows on the story of the CEO himself, who founded the company after his own experience with losing weight gave him the idea for Nutrifix. The company was among the first startups that joined the Just Eat Food Tech Accelerator programme in November 2016, through which the online food order company committed a £20k investment in the app, which was followed by a £200k fundraise through crowdfunding platform Crowdcube in March last year.

At present, Nutrifix has over 5,000 users and a database with information on nearly 5,000 meals from more than 9,000 locations and 90 vendors which includes names such as Nando’s and Sainsbury’s.

Joel thinks that current nutrition apps are either retrospective or require a large amount of planning and organisation. He added that Nutrifix is designed to be quick and easy to use as it makes personalised meal suggestions to make or buy, and now with the in-built delivery feature eating healthy, nutritious food is easier than ever before. He further said that the company believes that one day Nutrifix will be attractive proposition to a range of acquirers from trade and sports brands to gyms and medical groups, but for now, it is eager to offer its unique service to like-minded, health-conscious individuals throughout the UK.
